Scamper(dragonwings)

To the bonorable Wrights:
This is to inform you that I am a boy of eleven. I have greatly admired your feats of daring. My father wants to fly too. Can you help him? We need to know how to shape the propellers. We need to know how big the wings should be in order to lift my father into the air. Father says that no one else in the whole world knows as much as you do about aeroplanes. Thank you.

And I signed it with the sounds of my name spelled out in demon letters. I wrote several drafts of it and then copied it out in the fine, elegant hand Miss Whitlaw had taught me. The next day we went down together and mailed the letter. ''You realized though, Moon Shadow, that even if they were to get this letter, there is no guarantee that they’ll answer it. They’re busy men, you know.

''But two weeks later, I got a letter from the Wrights’ bicycle shop, and in a very neat, strong hand Orville answered me:

Dear Mr.lee,
My brother and I are always happy to meet another flying enthusiast. But I want to tell you that our knownledge and skills that about plane, all of them are in our brain. All of them are belong to us. Some of them ,even are secret, we are the only two know in the world. So I feel sorry that I can't help you and your father. Although we can't help you any, but I know that someone may help you. He is Dr.White. He is a professor in America college. He study in motor and component about plane.I really hope he can help you. Sorry, for my helpless.

Newspaper cutting response “Secondary school class sizes cut”

I agree with the education sector that a reduction in the maximum class size is important to solve the problem. Due to the dropping birth rate since 1990s, the demand for secondary schools reduced greatly. In order to protect secondary schools from closure, the only solution is to cut the class size. This can help to maintain the employment of teaching staff in the education sector.

Cutting the class size also brings a lot of benefits to the future generation. It’s a well known fact that the class size in Hong Kong is so large that students do not get enough care and support from teaches. Under the above policy, teachers have fewer students in one class and can get to know what they needs clearly. Teaching a student do not only means teaching them academic knowledge, it also means taking care of their personal growth. In the long run, our future generation will be better prepare for the future and become more competitive.

Apart from these, students have more resources and space for development. As the class size is smaller, more resources are available for them during lessons. This will definitely benefit them. However, there are defects for cutting class size students will have less classmates, therefore they have fewer friends. The social skills among younger generation may not be as good as ours. However, this problem can be solved.

By having some activities in school, such as camping, hiking or even some inter-class competitions. It may help the students get to know more friends. For the benefit of students, I hope Hong Kong can take an action to promote the small classes education plan as soon as possible.

VOA News-2R(25)Phyllis wu

VOA News
I think most student don't like to do assignment at all. But doing homework can practicing our learning skills and review our memories. Unless schools will rewarding them for a excellent job , it may encourage them to do their work without teacher forcing to do. But choosing what kinds of rewards are also very important, different ages , should have different prizes. For teenagers, I think most likely, are stationeries, something that are practical, or even money. We are big enough now, we can manage money by ourselves, so money can also a good way for rewarding the good students. If schools really can handle this rewarding plan well, it may really reach the Goal!

Assignment-Number the star

Annemarie Johansen was the main character in Number the stars. She had a best friend called Ellen Rosen and a sister called Kirsti. Annemarie was a sproty girl. She liked running. She ran on the street and didn't care about others. Ellen Rosen was poor. Her family needed to hide up because of the German. Her safety was always a problem. Kirsti was a brave girl. she shouted at the German soldier. This showed that she was also lovely because she didn't realize that a soldier could kill her. If I was Kirsti, I would rather hide up myself or just pass through them.

A day in Ocean Park

I wonder why we didn't need to pay even ten dollars for enjoying all the facilities in the park? No matter why then, I also needed to thank Mr.Woo for holding a wonderful trip for 2R. At the entrance, we waited for around 20 minutes, maybe for the three adults to concerned the route of travelling or the procedures for all of us to entry the park. At that moment, we had already divided into groups. Charlie, Annie, Carmel, Muky and I were in the same group.

When we entry the park, all of us were really excited on every single things. After agreement, we all went to the SkyFair, we wanted to tried on the big hot air balloon, to see the whole view of Ocean Park. Unfortunately, the staff said the wind speed are too strong, for safety the SkyStar need to stop working. But we all can had a priority ticket for played when it worked again.

After that, we all ran to the kid's World. When we were running, we seemed like a child. When we laughing, it were very childlike and innocent.
In the Kid's world, we tried to found back our memories when we were young. We played the merry-go-round, tiny Ferris Wheel. But the most enjoyable was the Frog Hopper. Maybe someone even a child will think this is a "Low B" game. But something different between I and them was I was afraid of the"Centrifugal Force".It was the most reason that I didn't like to play the roller coaster at all.

Next, we went to joined the Giant Pandas Bamboo Eater lesson. It was awesome. Amy was a very professional guide. She told us many new imformations about pandas habitat and the body structure. This lesson raise me up my interest about pandas.

After the lesson, we went on to the headland by cable cars to had our lunch. When we arrived the headland place, we quickly played the Raging River and the Space Wheel. After our yummy lunch, unluckily, Carmel's twisted her feet. So we all needed to carry and help her.

At this moment, I had a few things that I wanted to complain. Firstly, I wanted to explained why our group were late for more than half an hour to attented the dolphin lesson. This was the fought of Ocean Park, I think the stairs are too oblique, it may cause accident for little child or old person if they were in hurry. Carmel was stumbled by the stairs. Second, The Escalator to Tai Shue Wan Entrance are really really slow. We wasted for maybe 20 minutes on travelling the 3 escalators. Oh! It's terrible! Unacceptable!I rather chose to run up to the hill for ten minutes instead of taking the rubbish escalator for more than 20 minutes. Because of all these rubbish arrange of Ocean Park. It made us late for the lesson. Sorry, Mr.Woo.

Today was the top ten wonderful day in my life. It gave me an unforgettable memories. I really hope we can have a simillar trip in the future. If can, I suggested to go an outing. We can also have an insect lesson. I think it will be more interesting than visiting the Ocean Park.
